This
books aims to respond to the policy of Freedom of Learning initiated by the
Minister of Education and Culture in 2019, and the Second Version of the
Guide to Key Performance Indicator Number 7 (IKU 7) by the Director General
of Higher Education in Indonesia, published in 2021. This fifteen-chapter
book shares Indonesian teachers’ research reports concerning their
experiences and insights during the Covid 19 pandemic and post-pandemic,
especially how they support their students to achieve in the postmodern
learning environment.
Like the recent applied linguitic perspectives, the contents of this book
have left the modernist views and adopt the post-modern one, in which
innovation, collaboration, social constructivism, digital learning
environment, and dfferentiated learning are seen as instructional
expectations standard. The
research-based innovations highlight task-based, cooperative, and
collaborative learning as strategies favourably used. The use of digital
technology is dominant in developing the innovation strategies to empower EFL
teachers to play their role as facilitators for learning, so that they can
empower their students to autonomously become constructors of knowledge and
skills. Digital technologies including multimedia and communication skills
through various technology integrations are utilized; i.e. WhatsApp, Muvizu,
NearPod, Eduflow, Google Sites, Video Conferencing Apps, YouTube, Video
Tutorial.
Therefore, the innovations detailed in this book contribute theoretically and
practically to EFL practitioners in various contexts.
